It’s been a brutal year. And while we’ve all experienced the pandemic differently, sudders’ latest track, ‘Lonesome’ echoes a painfully familiar sentiment.

The isolated piano loop, sombre cello and soft jazz guitar are fitting partners to sudders’ measured flow. The chorus, much like the last year, feels simultaneously desperately sad and sweetly optimistic.

‘Lonesome’ is a tale of longing and loss, but it’s also a celebration of love, family and the memories that bind those relationships. Lockdown may be coming to an end, but ‘Lonesome’ is a fitting snapshot of everything we left behind.
