Criminally under-rated, veteran wordsmith Brotherman returned last autumn with the excellent Huckleberry EP. Fittingly, coinciding with the temperature leaping up 20 degrees in in a week and the first few days of summer breaking out, the first visual from the project, ‘Cloud Clears’, finally dropped. Balancing an honest outlook of a flawed world with an unbreakable positivity is kind of a trademark for Brotherman. This latest offering is that all over.
Bars and melodic hook from the lyricist are on point as ever and subtly uplifting production from GG Penny is pure sunshine.
