There’s a whole lot about it’s fairly recent history that Britain has preferred to sweep under the rug. Especially given its scale, the almost complete genocide of Australia’s indigenous peoples stands out as a particularly vile example of how convenient it is for us to give no focus to stories where we’re the villains. As discussion of the issue is mostly missing from our curriculum and popular culture, it’s dope to see Cyclonious eloquently taking on the role of vexed historian with ‘Invasion Day’. It’d be hard to be as comprehensive on the topic as the lyricist is over the course of 4 minutes and if listening to what he has to say doesn’t break your heart a bit, your ticker needs re-calibrating. Essential listening.
