Jam Baxter and GhostTown are a tried and tested combo at this point, but this one’s something special. As the first offering off the next LP to see the light of day, crawling from the acid-soaked abstract abode that was Mansion 38, ‘Saliva’ is a different creature entirely. Beyond the obvious appeal of Baxter back with a banger, there’s something powerful about Saliva’s construction. There’s a juxtaposition that probably shouldn’t even work between GhostTown coming with an instrumental that’s sonicly proud/bordering on hopeful and Jam’s eloquently phrased disgust. Fortunately the balancing act of light vs dark does work and the result is glorious.
Panoramic video by Spin City Visuals deserves huge props too. New album Touching Scenes can’t come quick enough.
