Always sick to see fellow hip hop ambassadors Wordplay doing bits. They’ve been doing their best to make sweet lemonade out of the shrivelled lemons dealt by 2020 since lockdown began. With a long run of Instagram takeovers overflowing with UK talent raising money for NHS Hero Support, and a bunch of other good ish including a ridiculous RLD Recs channel takeover, they’ve still got a bunch up their baggy sleeves it seems.
This first instalment of their new Wordplay Sessions, features Jords who we’ve been rating highly this year, giving an understatedly powerful rendition of latest single ‘Black & Ready’.
Wordplay are on a mission to support music venues across the UK struggling to survive at present and have started Wordplay Sessions to showcase talent across Rap, Soul and Jazz, whilst raising awareness of local charities and ways to donate to each venue. Episode one was shot at the Shoe Factory Social Club in Norwich.
