Sane proving here that he’s mad diverse. Following on from recent tunes that have been effortlessly dope at the melodic end of the hip hop spectrum, the Leicester MC has pivoted to something completely different with the acapella poetry of ‘I’m Hungry’. Seasonally timed with the point in the year most associated with gluttony, Sane provides stanzas here with food for thought in abundance. With opening lines seeming like a simple celebration of food that then progress to explore Sane’s ego, demons and place in the world, there are levels to the words and the visual conclusion that I won’t even try to unpack. Safe to say after a few listens there’s still stuff to digest. Serious ratings.
